Dr. Edith R. Levy
Holocaust Survivor
A survivor is just a Hop, Skype and a Jump Away!
Edith Rechter Levy is a Holocaust survivor who lost her entire extended family to the fanatical hatred of the Nazi regime. She, her mother and brothers were saved when a German woman in Belgium provided them a hiding place and cared for them.
Besides being a survivor, Dr. Levy is a Holocaust educator and published scholar who has devoted much of her life to teaching the Holocaust and the consequences of bias and prejudice.
It’s true … your class can have a Skype date with Edith so she can share her experiences. Actually, she prefers the classroom becomes familiar with her story to begin with and has an excellent CD which contacts a PowerPoint presentation to show your class prior to your meeting. This CD has the voices of her lovely Granddaughter (playing young Edith) and Dr. Levy herself as narrator.
The class can preview the CD, digest the information and write down thoughtful questions for Edith. The questions can be emailed to Edith prior to the date and she will address them during the 30 minute conversation.
Make a reservation today by calling the Rechter Foundation at 304.291.3732. This should be done 15 days prior to the Skype date. Send a SASE with your name and address along with a check for $100 payable to The Rechter Foundation, PO Box 1125, Morgantown WV 26507.
Once request is received, a cd will be mailed to you as soon as possible.
